My name is Adam Fowler and I am a local Mankato inhabitant originally from Minneapolis. I have grown up in both Uptown and Downtown of the Twin City and have built an elusive palate. I love food and am ready to share my experiences through my brief weekly posts of different restaurants in Mankato.

KaBobs Skewer & Drink
Located right in the heart of Downtown Mankato, Kabobs adds innovation and a little fun to the dining experience.
Kabobs, recently under new management, has created a delightfully flexible menu, complete with dishes fueled by the customers imagination.
There short, but quaint menu consists of a list of meats, sauces, veggies and mix-ins, combined to create your own plate with all of your favorite flavors. No other restaurant in the area allows for that kind of meal-building.
All the veggies and mix-ins do taste fresh, but the meat sometimes comes out relatively bland. Its presentation is nice; it comes on a wooden shish kabob on top of a piece of garlic flat-bread. Although, the flavors are similar to ones a mediocre chef could conjure. The meat is good accompanied by the other flavored items and sauces, but alone can be very simple.
There is a lavish liquid menu, both alcoholic and not. Specifically in their beer selections, which includes multiple flavors from Rogue Ales.
Their prices are spot on and the staff is friendly as any restaurant/bar around.
The inside has a nice atmosphere with many booth seating areas in front, and the long tabletop bar in back. All build with dark, finished wood and black leather for an attractive feel.
I'll definitely be back to Kabobs for drinks, fun people, and a meal I can assemble my own way!
